Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical) or Building Services, Quantity Surveying and advance diploma in Quantity surveying.
- At least 6 years related experience in Contract Management, Cost Estimate, Budget Control, Value
- Engineering, VO Preparation, Progress Payment Submissions and Claims in MEP
- Must have experience in pre-tender and post-tender related to QS process
- Strong ability in problem solving and organizing skills are desirable.
- Excellent team building interpersonal and negotiating skills.
- Effective problem-solving skills with good communication
Job Responsibilities
- To support to HOD for mentoring and up-skilling to QS team with a focus on general Quantity Surveying skills such as (but not limited to) estimation, detailed cost plans, price comparisons, BOQ preparation, method of measurement, company standard measuring practice etc.
- To be ensure robust, accurate and timely in the preparation of cost plans and bills of quantity from early design information including budget costs for feasibility studies
- To work closely with the design team on design economies and identify the opportunity of value engineering
- To assist HOD in the preparation of procurement strategy, options and contractual strategy specific to the project including contract review, contract risk analysis, recommendations and negotiation
- To be responsible in the procurement / Sub-Contractor award including preparing requests for proposals, scopes of works, tender clarifications, tender questionnaires, tender recommendations, price / cost comparisons, negotiating and drafting contracts
- To build a cost data base / master tenderer list including sourcing quotations from domestic and international suppliers, consultants and contractors and ensure they are pre-qualified
- To make contract drafting and administration including preparing contracts, contract review, collating comments from across the PM team, assessing interim payment applications (progress claims), variations / claims, extensions of time and final accounts
- To review and respond to contractual claims, preparation and issue of letters, notices and contractual correspondence to clients and / or contractors to assist the Project Manager in the prevention and settlement of contractual disputes.
- Must be proactive cost control for projects including transparent and competitive procurement and contractual administration / management processes
- To ensure accurate cash flow forecasting and reporting takes place
- To identify proactively existing operations, procedures, documentation and systems, suggest solutions for issues, discuss with HOD and actively involved in team development and improvement
- To help to be ensure that commercial processes are adhered to across the cost and contracts
- To be ensure that good client relationships both internal and external are fostered
Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
