Job Description

  • Overseeing the presentation and layout of products in a retail environment to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Specialize in sourcing, managing, promotional material and overseeing the buying process, forecasting inventory demands and trends, and negotiating with suppliers for each area & layout, to manage once a store is up and running.
  • Plan and execute sales promotions, discounts, and special events to attract customers and boost sales.
  • Set appropriate pricing for products, considering factors such as cost, competition, and perceived value.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and safety standards in all merchandising activities.
  • Negotiating the costs of inventory for multiple stores.
  • Preparing annual and quarterly budgets, and presenting them to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Merchandising Strategy: Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies that align with the overall business goals and target customer preferences.
  • Determine the range of products to be carried in the store, considering factors such as customer demand, trends, and seasonal variations,
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure that products are in stock and available for customers while minimizing overstock situations.
  • Create visually appealing displays and arrangements that highlight products’ features and benefits, encouraging customer engagement and sales.
  • Design planograms (visual representations of store layouts) that optimize product placement, traffic flow, and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Allocate space within the store effectively, taking into account the size and layout of the retail space.
  • Stay informed about market trends, customer preferences, and competitor strategies to adjust merchandising plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate terms, discuss product availability, and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Ensure that shelves are consistently stocked with products, coordinating with store staff to replenish inventory as needed.
  • Regularly review sales data and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of merchandising strategies and make data-driven adjustments.
  • Supervise and guide merchandising teams, providing training, feedback, and support to ensure consistent execution of merchandising plans.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the staffs. Set performance expectations, delegate tasks, and motivate employees to achieve individual and team goals. Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork and collaboration.
  • Identify training and development needs for the staffs. Provide coaching, mentorship, and training programs to enhance their skills and knowledge. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven individual with experience managing with a small to medium-size team.
  • Listen to customer feedback and incorporate their preferences and suggestions into merchandising decisions.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as marketing and operations, to align merchandising efforts with broader organizational strategies. 

Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Holidays: One off day per week, Public Holidays
