Job  Descriptions

  • Ensure reliable operation of the entire electrical power distribution network (HT/LT).
  • Oversee operation and maintenance of transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, UPS systems, standby power, and substations.
  • Monitor and optimize electrical load distribution, power factor, and energy quality.
  • Ensure uninterrupted power supply to ammonia, urea, utilities, bagging, and offsite facilities.
  • Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance plans.
  • Conduct troubleshooting for electrical breakdowns, protection trips, and power disturbances.
  • Perform root-cause failure analysis (RCFA) for equipment failures and electrical incidents.
  • Plan and execute annual shutdowns, major overhauls, and statutory inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA), local electrical inspectorate rules, and OSHA / Factory Act.
  • Enforce strict safety protocols: LOTO, electrical permitting, arc flash standards, grounding practices, and PPE requirements.
  • Ensure periodic calibration and testing of protection relays, circuit breakers, and interlock systems.
  • Lead electrical engineering projects including plant expansions, power system upgrades, renewable integrations, and efficiency improvements.
  • Prepare technical specifications, review engineering drawings, and evaluate vendor offers.
  • Support CAPEX planning, installations, commissioning, and documentation
  • Monitor power consumption trends and drive energy-saving initiatives.
  • Optimize power factor correction and reduce energy costs.
  • Oversee integration with captive power plant operations for load management.
  • Manage electrical engineers, supervisors, technicians, and shift teams.
  • Train personnel on electrical safety, protection systems, and emergency procedures.
  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, instrumentation, and utility departments for smooth operations.

Job Requirements

  • B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Power Engineering.
  • M.Tech, MBA (Operations), or certification in power system engineering — preferred.
  • Additional certifications in electrical safety, protection relay coordination, or energy management are a plus.
  • 10–15 years experience in electrical power systems within fertilizer, petrochemical, chemical, or other continuous process industries.
  • Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • 33 kV / 132 kV / 220 kV substations
    • HT/LT switchgear, transformer O&M
    • Electrical protection systems and relays
    • Motor control centers, VFDs, HV motors, soft starters
    • Coordination with captive power plants or grid
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, protection philosophy, and relay coordination.
  • Expertise in transformer diagnostics, switchgear maintenance, insulation testing, and arc-flash analysis.
  • Knowledge of energy management systems, SCADA, DCS interfaces, and electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency with CMMS (SAP PM, Maximo) and electrical design software (ETAP, EPLAN).

Working Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM
