Position Summary:

  • The Finance Assistant supports the Finance team in ensuring smooth daily operations, with responsibilities across premium collection, reporting, petty cash management, and coordination with Sales and Operations at the branch level.

Responsibilities:

  • Premium Collection & Receipting
  • Verify actual premium payments received and record them in the system.
  • Issue official receipts to policyholders in line with set procedures.
  • Review and reconcile system-rejected transactions with actual payments.

Cash & Petty Cash Management

  • Handle branch petty cash transactions as per company standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit monthly petty cash claims to Head Office.
  • Manage stamp inventory: issuance, recording, and reconciliation.

Reporting & Reconciliation

  • Prepare daily sales statements by policy and product.
  • Generate daily Cash Counter Reports according to timelines.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for Sales and Operations teams.
  • Maintain manual receipt records as per procedure, ensuring proper reconciliation when systems resume after downtime.

System Support & Manual Processing

  • Issue manual receipts when the system is down and ensure all transactions are later recorded in the system with full reconciliation.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as a key liaison between Finance, Sales, and Operations at the branch level.
  • Draft ad-hoc letters or applications in English and Burmese as required.

Claims and Commission Support

  • Verify accuracy of claim payments in line with internal policies.
  • Prepare KPay payment instructions and coordinate with Treasury.
  • Maintain proper documentation for audit purposes.
  • Verify commission calculations in frontend software and coordinate with departments to resolve discrepancies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of finance experience in banking, microfinance, or insurance industries.
  • Degree in B. Com or LCCI Level III certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Detail-oriented, honest, reliable, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Positive attitude with willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Experience in general office administration is a plus.

Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Holidays: Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays
