Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to oversee and drive the operational and strategic activities of our trading business. The GM will be responsible for optimizing daily operations, managing cross-functional teams, expanding markets, maintaining supplier and customer relationships, and ensuring profitability and growth. The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the trading company, including strategic planning, business development, financial management, import/export processes, and team leadership. The GM plays a key role in driving growth and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations aligned with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage overall operations of the trading company.
- Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve company goals.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and partners.
- Oversee procurement, inventory, logistics, and sales activities.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
✅ Strategic & Operational Leadership:
- Develop and implement business plans, budgets, and operational strategies.
- Oversee import/export operations, supply chain, and logistics management.
- Lead expansion into new products or markets and ensure market competitiveness.
✅ Financial & Administrative Management:
- Manage company budgets, cash flow, and P&L.
- Analyze financial data to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper financial controls and compliance with tax and trade regulations.
✅ Sales & Marketing Oversight:
- Set sales targets and monitor performance against KPIs.
- Identify business development opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Approve pricing strategies and client contracts.
✅ Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure full compliance with local laws (DICA, FDA, Customs, MIC, etc.).
- Oversee risk management, insurance, and legal compliance.
✅ Team Management:
- Lead and motivate department managers (Sales, Finance, HR, Logistics).
- Promote a high-performance culture and provide leadership development.
- Set clear objectives, conduct performance reviews, and improve team efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- 8–10 years of experience in trading, import/export, or distribution businesses.
- At least 3–5 years in a senior management or general manager role.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Myanmar trade laws, tax compliance, and logistics systems.
- Fluent in English and Myanmar (both written and spoken).
