ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities

  • Ensuring that the Governance, Risk, Compliance and Control Frameworks (“Risk Framework”) of
  • Strategic Business Units (SBUs) are operating effectively.
  • Ensuring that these frameworks are maintained and updated as approved by the Board.
  • Making operative the risk controls required by the Risk Framework to remain within the agreed risk appetite(s).
  • Compiling, assessing, and reporting risk information to top management.
  • Ensuring that the SBUs’ activities in relation to risk management comply within relevant legislation, regulations, and internationally best practices.
  • Supporting the CEOs in advising the Board on matters related to risk management.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Developing, managing, and refining qualitative and quantitative risk reporting which meets the needs of the Board, in order to support effective decision making.
  • Working closely with the CEO, CFO/FC, the Board, Audit and Risk Committee (if any), HODs across the
  • Strategic Business Units (“SBU”) assisting the establishment and maintenance of a high-achieving, well-controlled organization which can achieve growth targets safely and adheres to best international practices.
  • Formulating and articulating a coherent risk appetite and infrastructure.
  • Continuously developing, enhancing and embedding the risk framework for managing risks across the
  • SBUs ensuring that processes are fit for purpose.
  • Developing and updating risk management policies and procedures.
  • Establishing and maintaining corporate governance systems related to risk.
  • Embedding a positive culture of confident and informed risk-taking through training, communication, and promotion of the agreed risk framework.
  • Partnering effectively with third parties, regulatory bodies, and others, as appropriate and serving as a role model for high personal and corporate ethical values and standards of integrity.
  • Supporting corporate governance issues involving external risk reporting to stakeholders.
  • Advising on risk management and mitigation (e.g., possible insurance coverage, implementing HSE measures and making business continuity plans to limit risks and prepare for if things go wrong), and Providing education, support, and training to staff to build risk awareness across SBUs.

REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in business, finance, economics.
  • At least (5) years of experience in risk management and have work experience in diverse
    businesses/financial industry is preferred.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Adequate knowledge of Myanmar local regulations.
  • Must have good command of Myanmar and English in written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communications skills (oral and written) and ability to build relationships with CBU and SBUs and present to top management.
  • Good team player and leadership skills.
  • Experienced change agent and able to work with diverse teams.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to handle diverse tasks.
  • Able to exercise oversight control over risk arrangements in large organizations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk control arrangements.
  • Understands the issues involved in running a business.

Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Holidays: Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays
