Position Summary
- The Reporting Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, regulatory compliance, taxation, general ledger (GL) integrity, and claims reporting.
- This role also includes preparing and analyzing weekly sales reports, handling commission and incentive payments, and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions.
- The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, proficient in technical accounting, and capable of leading cross-functional collaboration to meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance
- Prepare and file regulatory reports accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with FRD/IBRB requirements.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual FRD and IBRB reports.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain updated knowledge of changes in financial regulations and assess their impact on the company’s operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies and external auditors.
Taxation
- Oversee tax compliance, including commercial tax, corporate income tax, and payroll taxes.
- Prepare and review tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Handle tax audit requirements and collaborate with tax auditors for smooth resolution.
- Manage tax documents for foreign currency remittance processes and other tax related matters.
General Ledger (GL) Management
- Manage and review GL accounts to ensure reconciliations, adjustments, and adherence to accounting standards.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Post monthly journal entries for claim payments, commission payments, fixed assets, and prepaid general journal in MBC Software.
- Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency in GL management.
- Claims Commission and Incentive Payments Management
- Check claim payments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.
- Prepare KPay payments, liaise with Treasury for process completion, and submit to the Finance Manager.
- Maintain accurate documentation and provide support for audit-related claims.
- Verify commission amounts in frontend software and communicate with cross-functional departments in case of discrepancies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve any issues related to commission calculations and payments.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; B. Com (CPA) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, taxation, regulatory compliance, or GL management. Banking/Microfinance/Insurance industry experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Frontend/Backend systems, Microsoft office suite with advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with accounting standards (IFRS/MAS).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to review and verify financial data for accuracy and completeness.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to present data and insights clearly to
- internal stakeholders. Must have good follow-up skills and the ability to complete the tasks within deadlines.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments and independently manage complex projects.
- A person with a can-do attitude, self-motivated, and willing to learn new things in a short period. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Holidays: Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays
