Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive quality control processes and procedures for seafood products.
- Conduct regular inspections of incoming raw materials, ensuring they meet specified quality standards.
- Monitor and evaluate production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain strong relationships, ensuring consistent product quality.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including food safety standards.
- Conduct regular audits of production facilities to ensure adherence to quality control protocols.
- Investigate customer complaints related to product quality, identify root causes, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality control activities, including test results, inspections, and audits.
- Train employees on proper quality control procedures and ensure their understanding and compliance.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new regulations, and advancements in seafood quality control practices.
- Any other duties that may be adjusted according to the needs of the department from time to time.
Knowledge and Expertise Required
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Fisheries Science, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in seafood quality control management or a similar role within the food industry.
- In-depth knowledge of seafood processing techniques, food safety regulations (such as HACCP), and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions based on findings.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams internally as well as with suppliers and customers.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, ensuring high-quality standards are consistently met.
- Familiarity with seafood sourcing, sustainability practices, and certifications (e.g., MSC) is a plus.
- Proficiency in using quality control software systems and tools.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for oversea visits or industry conferences.
Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM
Holidays: Sunday & Public Holidays
