Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality control processes and procedures for seafood products.
  • Conduct regular inspections of incoming raw materials, ensuring they meet specified quality standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain strong relationships, ensuring consistent product quality.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including food safety standards.
  • Conduct regular audits of production facilities to ensure adherence to quality control protocols.
  • Investigate customer complaints related to product quality, identify root causes, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality control activities, including test results, inspections, and audits.
  • Train employees on proper quality control procedures and ensure their understanding and compliance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new regulations, and advancements in seafood quality control practices.
  • Any other duties that may be adjusted according to the needs of the department from time to time.

Knowledge and Expertise Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Fisheries Science, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in seafood quality control management or a similar role within the food industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of seafood processing techniques, food safety regulations (such as HACCP), and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions based on findings.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams internally as well as with suppliers and customers.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, ensuring high-quality standards are consistently met.
  • Familiarity with seafood sourcing, sustainability practices, and certifications (e.g., MSC) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using quality control software systems and tools.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for oversea visits or industry conferences.

Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM
Holidays: Sunday & Public Holidays
