The Chief Engineer is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all technical operations, maintenance systems, and engineering teams. They ensure that facilities, equipment, or products operate safely, efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Operations & Maintenance: Direct and coordinate the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and structural systems.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate engineering staff and technicians; delegate project tasks and set performance goals.
- Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs and long-term capital improvement strategies.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal safety codes, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
- Budgeting & Financials: Manage the department budget, forecast capital expenditures, negotiate vendor/contractor contracts, and control utility/operational costs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with project management, operations, and executive leadership to align technical roadmaps with business goals.

Qualifications & Education
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, (or a related technical discipline). A Master’s degree or professional certifications (Professional Engineer (PE) license) are strong advantages.
- Experience: 7 to 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership or supervisory engineering role.
Skills & Competencies
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of core engineering systems (HVAC, electrical grids, mechanical layouts, automation/CMMS software).
- Leadership & Management: Proven ability to build, lead, and motivate technical teams, manage conflict, and handle emergency response planning.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the capability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders or board members.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong strategic thinking regarding risk mitigation, budget forecasting, and troubleshooting mission-critical failures.
Working Hours: 9:00 AM ~ 5:00 PM
Holidays: Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays
