Duties and Responsibilities
The work and role of the PE includes but is not limited to the following:
- Create and maintain good relationships with truck suppliers, trucking gates and drivers.
- Maintain and manage daily fuel price record and daily market price record.
- Plan and organize for drafting and issuing of RFQs, Tenders for vendors and fleet supplier arrangement.
- Maintain records of purchases, pricing and other important data for Tenders and RFQs.
- Negotiate the best deal for pricing, company policies, payment methods and supply
contracts. - Maintain and update a list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development.
- Assist to find the best labor and transloading costs, short trip costs throughout the country and ensure they are of a standard that meets clients SOPs.
- Analyse and report to management any potential market changes and developments in pricing and vendor supply capacity.
- Carrie out assessment and comparisons of vendor prices in line with current market trends and reports back on those to Senior Management.
- Align with internal teams to have transparency communication internally.
Education and Experience
- Preferably a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the logistics sector with a focus on inland road transportation,
- Degree preferred
- Logistics and supply chain qualifications an advantage
Skills and Competencies
- Basic understanding of all major industry sectors in Myanmar and their overall logistics needs
- Proven experience in meeting targets
- Good negotiation skills and the ability to choose best suppliers/vendors
- Experience in supplier management with trucking gates and transportation companies
- A team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Timely and detailed reporting abilities
- Able and willing to travel throughout Myanmar
- Excellent time management and planning
- Fluent English both written and verbal
- Competency in MS office, PowerPoint, Excel and other relevant applications
Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Holidays: Saturday & Sunday, Public Holidays
