Job Description
- Design and calculate technical specifications for solar PV systems (On-grid, Off-grid, Hybrid) using software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, or other relevant tools.
- Prepare Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and perform system sizing based on customer requirements.
- Evaluate solar irradiance, ground conditions, and weather data for the proposed installation site.
- Conduct shadow analysis, roof load calculations, and provide necessary engineering recommendations.
- Define specifications and quantities for solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, cables, and other components.
- Prepare cost estimations and project budgets.
- Provide technical support to project managers, contractors, and clients.
- Prepare design-related documents, including drawings, reports, and permitting documents.
- Ensure compliance with international standards and local electrical regulations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related field
- Professional certification in solar design or project management is an advantage
- 2–5 years of experience in solar PV system design
- Experience in rooftop and/or ground-mounted solar projects
- Experience supporting EPC or commercial & industrial (C&I) solar projects preferred
- Strong understanding of: Grid-tied, hybrid, and off-grid solar systems, DC/AC system configuration, string sizing, inverter matching and earthing and protection systems
- Ability to calculate: System capacity sizing, energy yield estimation, cable sizing and voltage drop and Performance Ratio (PR)
- Ability to prepare: Single Line Diagrams (SLD),Layout drawings, Electrical schematics and Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
- Understanding of shading analysis and tilt optimization
- Knowledge of local electrical codes and interconnection standards
- Proficient in: AutoCAD, PVsyst and Helioscope (or similar simulation tools)
- MS Excel (advanced calculations & data analysis)
- Familiarity with proposal preparation tools is an advantage
- Strong technical calculation ability
- Ability to optimize system design for: Cost efficiency, Performance and Space constraints
- Ability to review site survey data and translate it into accurate system designs
- Good written and verbal English
- Able to explain technical design concepts to sales and project teams
- Strong coordination with site survey and implementation teams
- Detail-oriented and accuracy-focused

- Proactive and innovative
- Able to manage multiple design tasks simultaneously
- Willing to visit project sites when required
Working hours: 8:30AM to 5:00PM
Holidays: Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays
