Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 – 8 years of experience in Microfinance, Banking, or Credit Risk Management
  • Proven experience in credit analysis, and credit policy implementation
  • Prior experience as an Assistant Credit Manager, Senior Credit Analyst/Assistant Risk Manager preferred
  • Experience working with lending, SME, or microfinance portfolios is an advantage Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of microfinance credit methodologies and risk management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate policy into practical, field-friendly processes
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
  • High integrity, independence, and sound judgement
  • Strong excel and data analysis skills; experience supporting automation initiatives is an advantage
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Operations, IT/Data, HR

 

Job Descriptions

  • Review, enhance, and enforce credit policies, procedures, and credit appraisal standards.
  • Ensure all loan approvals comply with internal credit policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Recommend revisions to credit manuals based on portfolio performance and field realities.
  • Oversee credit analysis conducted by CAOs and other credit staff.
  • Review complex or high-risk loan cases and provide recommendations.
  • Support Branch Managers, Regional Managers, and Operations in credit decision-making.
  • Ensure consistency and fairness in credit approvals across branches.
  • Lead initiatives to simplify and standardize the credit assessment process.
  • Work with the Data Analyst to design Excel-based tools, scoring models, or risk-flag systems to support CAOs.
  • Reduce manual workload while improving data accuracy, speed, and consistency.
  • Support gradual automation of credit workflows without compromising control.
  • Train and mentor CAOs, Loan Officers
  • Credit analysis techniques
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and feedback to strengthen credit discipline.
  • Support operations during peak periods (e.g., agricultural season).
  • Prepare regular credit and risk reports for Management.
  • Present insights on credit trends, operational bottlenecks, and improvement areas.
  • Provide practical, data-based recommendations for decision-making.
  • Conduct branch visits and field checks to validate credit processes and assessments.
  • Review consistency between field observations and credit fil documentation.
  • Support audits and special credit reviews when required.

 

Working Hours: 8:30AM – 5:30PM

Holidays: Saturday & Sunday, Public Holidays
