 The Country Manager is responsible for driving end-to-end commercial strategy and execution across overall operation, sales and marketing, distribution, finance, revenue growth management, and channel development. This role ensures sustainable topline growth, market share expansion, and profitability across all channels while building strong customer and distributor partnerships.This position will report directly to the Head / MD, Emerging Markets and will be based in Yangon, Myanmar.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Commercial Strategy & P&L Ownership
  • Own and deliver revenue, volume, and profitability targets (NSR, GP, EBIT)
  • Develop and execute the annual commercial strategy aligned with business and brand objectives
  • Lead long-term growth plans, including channel expansion and pricing strategies
  • Drive market share growth across key categories and geographies
  1. Financial & Risk Management
  • Oversee budgets and financial performance for commercial activities
  • Analyze data to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks effectively

 

  1. Business Development & Market Expansion
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets.
  • Expand distribution networks to increase market coverage and penetration.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform strategy.

 

  1. Distributor & Partner Management
  • Build and manage strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key customers
  • Ensure efficient distribution network coverage and performance
  • Drive capability-building programs for distributor partners

 

  1. Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) & Supply Chain Management
  • Lead end-to-end OEM management, including prospecting, evaluation, qualification, and appointment of OEM partners in collaboration with Quality Assurance (QA) and cross-functional teams
  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing structures, contracts, and service level agreements with OEM partners
  • Oversee operational planning covering demand forecasting, sourcing coordination, production planning, and inventory management to ensure supply continuity
  • Ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and supplier performance through effective quality assurance and relationship management processes

 

  1. Sales Leadership & Execution
  • Lead sales teams across General Trade, Modern Trade, E-commerce, and HoReCa.
  • Set clear sales targets, KPIs, and performance frameworks.
  • Ensure excellence in in-market execution (availability, visibility, distribution).
  • Drive key account management and negotiation with major retail chains.

 

  1. Marketing & Channel Development
  • Oversee marketing strategy including promotions, merchandising, and activation.
  • Optimize channel mix and route-to-market strategies.
  • Ensure strong alignment between brand marketing and commercial execution.

 

  1. Pricing, Negotiation & Governance
  • Lead pricing and promotional strategies to balance growth and profitability.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with commercial policies and governance frameworks.

 

  1. Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Product teams.
  • Partner with Human Capital to drive people initiatives across talent development, workforce planning, employee engagement, and organizational capability building.
  • Ensure alignment between demand planning and supply capabilities.
  • Support innovation launches and commercialization strategies.

 

  1. Government and Regulatory Affairs
  • Manage relationships with relevant government agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory developments, assessing business impact and ensuring timely internal alignment and compliance readiness
  • Lead regulatory submissions, approvals, and audits, ensuring smooth market access and uninterrupted business operations

 

 Requirements

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in commercial, sales, or marketing roles, preferably within FMCG or related industries
  • Proven experience in leading end-to-end commercial functions, including sales, marketing, distribution, and revenue growth management
  • Demonstrated track record in owning and delivering P&L performance (revenue, margins, profitability)
  • Experience in developing market expansion strategies, distributor management, and driving market share growth

 Working Hours: 8:30AM to 5:30PM

Holidays: Saturday & Sunday, Public Holidays.
